Mr. Jerry R. Lewis has been a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality training provider since 1997. Licensed in 1982 as Texas Landscape Irrigator LI 1251, he also currently holds licenses or certifications: TCEQ Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester, Customer Service Inspector, and Landscape Irrigation Auditor. In his career Jerry has held licenses as a Texas Plumbing Inspector and Water/Wastewater operator. With over seventeen years of public service, Jerry served in positions across the state as Director of Parks and Recreation, City Manager and General Manager of Municipal Utility Districts.
Jerry provides core training throughout the state in Irrigation, Backflow Prevention Assembly Testing, and various Continuing Education courses. He is the owner and instructor of Sundance Training of Keller, Texas. He has a dedicated interest in water quality and its conservation. In 2009 he completed a six year term on the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Irrigator Advisory Council. During his time on the council he served as Chair of the Education, Legislation, and Rules committees, as well as the Chairman of the Advisory Council. Beginning 2010 he served for five years as the Chairman of the Texas Irrigation Network. Jerry has served the Lone Star Irrigation Association and its members for almost twenty years. As its Founder he has held positions with the LSIA as the Executive Director, Director, Chairman of the Board and President.
Jerry enjoys spending time with his wife of 40 years, Helen, and his family. He is very proud of his working relationship with his son and partner, Justin Lewis, also an instructor for Sundance. When he can find some spare time he likes to spend it at his ranch in West Texas.
